St Peter's is the older village core west of Broadstairs proper, with a walled churchyard, cottage rows on Church Street and Hopeville Avenue, and a mix of period stock through to modern infill. Parts of the old village sit inside conservation-area boundaries administered by Broadstairs and St Peter's Town Council: any boundary change visible from a public highway there needs a consent conversation up front.
